Rory Gilmore's love life has been a source of discussion ever since the show first aired in 2002, and now with the upcoming release of the Gilmore Girls revival, a certain member of Stars Hollow lets slip about who is out of the running for Rory's heart

We hope that Amy Sherman-Palladino is feeling kind-hearted at the moment, because one of her stars just revealed a massive spoiler. David Sutcliffe, who plays Rory Gilmore's father Christopher Hayden, got a little bit carried away when speaking with USA Today about the revival of Gilmore Girls, and the great work that's been put into making it a reality. When asked about his on-screen daughter's love life and which, if any of her former, three boyfriends he would like to see her get back together with, he said: "Yes, Dean. I was going to say Jess, but I mean Dean. You know, I liked all the young actors that played her boyfriends. I know they’re not going to end up together but, Rory and Dean seem like a good couple." What's that you say, David? Rory and Dean won't end up together? Well that is news to us!

Will Christopher have to contend with a new boyfriend of Rory's?

Before we get carried away, it has been hinted that Dean's part in the revival season will be very small, around about the same time that it was confirmed Jess, Dean and Logan will all be returning for the Gilmore Girls revival. Jared Padalecki who plays Dean, told fans at a Supernatural convention, that Gilmore Girls writer and director Amy Sherman-Palladino was very upfront about his involvement in the show, he explained: "She was like, 'It's a set that we already run and own [and] it's an actress that already is working every day, so let us know.' So Dean has a cool scene in the market he used to work at. It's a nice, a really nice scene that gave me closure." Therefore, the fact that Padalecki only has one scene with Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory, gives us the answer that the two won't be a couple in the revival. We here at melty are team Jess all the way, and Milo Ventimiglia, who plays the Stars Hollow heartthrob, has proudly described the revival as classic Gilmore Girls. Who would you like Rory to end up with in the revival season?

  • That's upsetting and disappointing. I'm definitely not team Jess and didn't understand why they had the two get together in the first place. If Jared Padalecki (Dean) only has a small role and doesn't end up with Rory then I'm highly disappointed and won't even bother watching the revival. Rory and Dean we're and still are perfect with each other. Dean is who I would be happy to see Rory with, not the stupid loser jerk that came to town and broke them up.
