The return of Scandal, Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder are on the horizon, but we now have a little bit longer to wait. Read on to find out why the premieres have been pushed back
Fans of Shonda Rhimes' #TGIT were gearing up to see Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder return to our screens next week. And to make things even sweeter, the long-awaited Scandal Season 6 premiere, which got a winter premiere to accommodate star Kerry Washington's pregnancy. However we'll now have to wait just a bit longer. The three #TGIT series will now premiere on Thursday, January 26 instead of January 19 due to a pre-inauguration Trump special on ABC News. So don't go to ABC's channel next Thursday, January 19 expecting to see Olivia Pope back in action or to find out if Alex is going to prison or not. Because what you'll find instead are reruns of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal, followed by America's First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington.
When Scandal finally returns, we'll find out who the next president of America is: Mellie or Francisco, and more importantly, who's in charge: Olivia or Cyrus. Olivia and Mellie's team up last year was unexpected, but they made quite the dream team. However the Scandal Season 6 trailer teases that #Mellivia's relationship will come to an end. Over on Grey's Anatomy, Alex's fate was left hanging in the balance. He planned accept the plea bargin before his trial so that Jo wouldn't have to testify. Alex was super calm when Jo told him all about her secret identity and husband, but we don't think he's thinking clearly in regards to his future. Hopefully Meredith's voicemail knocked some sense into Alex. As for How to Get Away with Murder we discovered that Wes is the mystery person under the sheet, but there are still A LOT of unsolved questions. Fans just need to sit tight and be patient until the #TGIT lineup returns on January 26! How do you feel about the series' delayed winter premieres?
