It's the million dollar question that every comic book fan would love to know the answer to, what is Stan Lee's favorite comic book movie? At long last we have the answer!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is more successful than it's ever been. It's so successful that Robert Downey Jr. has teased that Tony Stark and Aunt May could get together in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which would have been a crazy idea eight years ago, but now it's not unfeasible. With Captain America: Civil War uniting several loved heroes in one movie and the Spider-Man rights finally transferring to Marvel and allowing the webslinger to become a part of the MCU, things are looking good for superhero fans. And undoubtedly, the biggest fan of them all has got to be Stan Lee, a man who created many of the Marvel characters we see on-screen and who has a relentless passion for cameoing in Marvel movies. It begs the question though - what is Stan Lee's favorite comic book movie of all time? Is it The Avengers? How about fan-favorite Captain America: Winter Soldier? Maybe it could be the very first X-Men? Nope, none of those! Drumroll please...

On his official Facebook page, Stan Lee has revealed that "[his favorite film] was the first one that was such a hit, the first Spider-Man." Yep, that's the 2002 film starring Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. Whether you're a fan of the film or not (but let's face it, most of us are), the huge impact that the film had on the comic book movie industry is unfathomable. While the film existed outside the MCU, it paved the way for the likes of Iron Man and other big Marvel blockbusters, because it showed that comic book movies can be good and they can sell well. We love Tom Holland as Spider-Man, but we'll always remain curious as to what Spider-Man 4 would have been like if Sam Raimi had been allowed to do it, as recent artwork suggests that Spider-Man 4 would have seen Spidey take on Vulture and Mysterio.
