Summer has only just begun, but we now have very important fall dates to mark down in our calendars. Read on to find out when The CW's Arrow, The Flash, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Supergirl return to our screens!

Our favorite CW shows are on hiatus for the summer, but that doesn't mean we've forgotten about them. We are ecstatic that the current longest running series on The CW, Supernatural, will be back for a twelfth season, with new showrunners to boot! Here at melty we were delighted when The Flash crossed over with Supergirl, which was a particularly unique situation since the two shows aired on different networks. However fans of both series can look forward to seeing Kara Danvers join Barry Allen on The CW's lineup. It's now time to officially start looking forward to October, which will be the month of premieres for The CW's shows. The Flash kicks off the fall premieres with its return on Tuesday, October 4, followed by newbie No Tomorrow, which will hopefully piggyback some success off The Flash's big audience. The next day, Wednesday, October 5 sees the return of Arrow, trailed by another newcomer Frequency.

Supergirl, which has moved over to The CW from CBS for its sophomore season will kick off on Monday, October 10. Supernatural and DC's Legends of Tomorrow both premiere on Thursday, October 13, so be sure to prepare for four days of superhero extravaganza that second week of October! The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow are all colliding for a huge crossover event, but that probably won't happen until later on in the season. Although if the crossover happened early in the fall schedule, especially in the premieres, the writers would have less of a burden to explain the how and why of the superhero meetup, instead of having build up to the event throughout the seasons of the different series. And last, but certainly not least, The Vampire Diaries will make its Season 8 debut on Friday, October 21. Its sister series, The Originals, is slated for a mid-season premiere, most likely in January, along with all-star series The 100. Which CW premiere are you most looking forward to?
