It's safe to say that 2016 won't go down as one of the best years in history, but luckily for us this new year marks the beginning of a new journey, one filled with promise and hope. Read on to find out what we're particularly excited for this year
We’re sad that Pretty Little Liars is coming to an end, but it has to be said, “It’s about damn time.” Fans have been waiting to discover the identity of A for six years now. There’s been fake-outs like Toby and Ezra, and there were the revelations that Mona and Charlotte both took a turn at tormenting the girls as A. But we know that this last reveal will be BIG, and we have a feeling that one of the Liars themselves will turn out to be Uber A. Pretty Little Liars returns to our screens on April 18 for the final ten episodes.
Ten years had passed since the last Stars Wars film when Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens was released. Now that Disney has acquired Lucasfilm, Star Wars fans can look forward to seeing a lot of new movies. We’ve already seen Episode 7 which introduced Rey and Finn. And Rouge One, the first ever Star Wars anthology film, was a hit at the box office as well. In 2017 (albeit at the very end in December) Rey and Finn will continue on their journey in Star Wars: Episode 8 and we can’t wait to see what transpires. We’re also expecting to see a lot more of Luke Skywalker, which is always a treat.Prison Break revival
Prison Break fans rejoiced upon hearing the news that the hit FOX series is getting a revival season. The original series, which ran from 2005-2009, starred Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. Miller and Purcell will reprise their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, but this time Michael's the one in prison and Lincoln is determined to bust him out. The revival will take the action abroad to a Yemeni prison, where Michael is locked up, and a lot of the old gang is getting back together to help Lincoln with his mission. Prison Break returns to FOX Spring 2017, get ready!Netflix TV series
Netflix has been killing it in the TV game. Not only are they busy creating their own Netflix series, they've also teamed up with various networks to pick up streaming rights, making the latest episodes of TV shows like Designated Survivor available on Netflix directly after it airs on the network's channel. We're most looking forward to Season 2 of Stranger Things and a television version of A Series of Unfortunate Events starring Neil Patrick Harris - the entire first season will be released Friday, January 13. There's a huge following of Netflix's Marvel shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. 2017 will introduce Iron Fist in his own series, before he joins the other heroes to form The Defenders - the team up we've all be waiting for. Jon Bernthal will also get his own Netflix show as The Punisher, which is also super exciting! We're anxiously awaiting summer to find out what happens in Orange Is The New Black's upcoming season, especially after that heartbreaking Season 4 finale. What are you most excited to see in 2017?
