A new X-Men TV show is coming, and it sounds like it's going to be dark and gritty. And no, we're not talking about Legion! Check out the details below.
Watch out Marvel, you've got some competition! After Marvel Studios' vastly successful cinematic universe, they began to expand their plan of world domination into the world of TV. Since the first Marvel TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we've also seen Jessica Jones and Daredevil air, will a crossover series between the two planned in the future. Now 20th Century Fox wants a piece of that action though, as The Hollywood Reporter reports that a new X-Men show is in the works at Fox. And the best thing? There's not just one, but two X-Men shows in the works. The TV show over at Fox is a different beast to Legion, the other X-Men show being developed, so it'll be interesting to see what connection (if any) there is between the two.
The series follows two parents who discover that their child has mutant powers, and so they go on the run from the government to protect them, teaming up with an underground network of mutants to survive. Fox Entertainment President David Madden said: "Developing a Marvel property has been a top priority for the network — and we are so pleased with how Matt Nix has led us into this thrilling universe. There’s comic book adventure, emotional and complicated relationships and a rich, existing mythology from which to draw. With the brilliant production crew behind this project, it has all the makings of a big, fun and exciting new series." And if that doesn't sound cool enough, there's reports that Marvel and 20th Century Fox might be thinking of bringing their superhero franchises together. And as Hugh Jackman cameo'd as Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse before he retired from the role, will he make one final cameo in the TV show? Are you excited for this new X-Men TV show?
