X-Men: Apocalypse's Simon Kinberg teases a Wolverine-related post credits scene

X-Men: Apocalypse's producer, Simon Kinberg, recently spoke about the film's post-credits scene, and teased that it may involve our favorite mutant, Wolverine!

Marvel has started a trend of adding little bonus scenes at the end of their films. These have become known as post-credits scenes, even though many of them actually appear mid-credits. They've become a good bit of fun for movie goers and have provided the studios with the ability to promote their next films immediately after their current movie has ended. However, these post-credits scenes have become a bit of a nightmare for cinemas, because it means that they have to wait for all the stragglers to leave the auditorium before they can start to clear up all the popcorn and boxes of drinks left by avid Marvel fan boys and girls. We were wondering whether X-Men: Apocalypse's post-credits scene would involve Wolverine or Cable. Well, producer Simon Kinberg has given us a bit of a clue as to which mutant we'll get to feast our eyes on in the film's little bit of bonus footage.

In an interview with Collider's Steve Weintraub, Simon Kinberg teased that Wolverine could be showing up in X-Men: Apocalypse's post-credits scene. “It’s a nod toward potentially a lot of different movies. I mean certainly the Wolverine movie is related to what happens at the end of it, but there’s also another character that’s introduced, at least in name, in the tag and he could show up in any host of different X-Men films. Maybe a Gambit movie, maybe another X-Men movie.” We're not entirely sure why Kinberg references the Gambit movie near the end of the quote because that movie's been in development hell for a while now. Channing Tatum seems to be teetering on the brink of leaving the project, despite being a perfect fit for the role. 20th Century Fox first delayed the movie, then they actually removed it from their release schedule entirely. We think that we may actually get to see some sort of tease involving Cable and the upcoming Deadpool sequel instead of in X-Men.
