It's official! X-Men: Apocalypse will feature a post-credits scene, but we want to know whether Wolverine or Cable will show up in it
Marvel is well known for putting short teasers at the end of their films after the credits, to get us in the mood for their following superhero blockbuster. It’s something they’ve been doing ever since the end of the very first Iron Man movie, where we saw Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury introduce himself to Tony Stark, claiming that Iron Man wasn’t the only superhero in the world. After that moment, all hell broke loose and we got a veritable onslaught of superhero flicks. We are now currently in Marvel’s third phase of superhero movies, yet the X-Men movies aren’t technically part of those phases. 20th Century Fox is doing its own thing with the Marvel properties they acquired all those years ago. Yet they also like to add little post-credit scenes near the end of their films, to get you pumped to see what they have coming up next.
Thanks to Comicbook.com, we know X-Men: Apocalypse will have a post-credits scene, but we’re asking ourselves which movie will 20th Century Fox want to promote. Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine solo film, or the sequel to the box office record-breaking Deadpool? There have been some rumors suggesting X-Men: Apocalypse’s post-credits scene will feature Mister Sinister looking at an unconscious Cable, suspended in an incubator. As cool as that would be, we’re not entirely sure that 20th Century Fox would go down the Mister Sinister route, whose main goal is to rid the world of the X-Men.
What would be more likely is that we’ll see a small snippet of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine doing something insanely awesome, like taking on a load of armed dudes. However, due to the fact that Deadpool’s now the highest-grossing X-Men movie of all time, we’re pretty certain that 20th Century Fox will want to piggy back off it’s success. Therefore, they might very well decide to tease Cable, who’s been confirmed to be in the sequel, yet we’ve heard no news on who’s been cast in the role. Who do you think should play Cable in Deadpool's sequel? And who do you think will be turning up in X-Men: Apocalypse's post-credits scene?
