American Horror Story Season 5: Richard T Jones checks in as Detective Hahn

Fresh on the heels of some big character announcements, the team behind American Horror Story Season 5 have just added an investigator to their cast list. Here's what we know so far about Richard T. Jones' role as Detective Hahn

American Horror Story comes back to FX in the fall with its fifth season, Hotel, and with it a varied ensemble cast that will make up for the recent departure of series anchor Jessica Lange. These include the return of Emma Roberts from last season's Freak Show, New Girl's Max Greenfield, who will be "checking in to the hotel, but not checking out" according to show creator Ryan Murphy, and the high-profile casting of Mother Monster herself in an as-yet unknown role, although Lady Gaga's AHS Season 5 teaser was recently revealed. Word is still out on Caitlyn Jenner's appearance when Hotel debuts in October, but we now have news of a brand new hire. And, for once, this appears to be a point for the good guys.

Deadline just dropped news of Richard T. Jones' 'checking in' to the cast of American Horror Story, where he will play "Detective Hahn, a Los Angeles police Homicide Detective." It's still not quite clear just how strong a role Jones will play in the decidedly claustrophobic Art Deco hotel, but it is known he will have an eight-episode story arc out of Season 5's 13-strong episode count. As Murphy previously revealed: "We're building this incredible six-story Art Deco hotel on the FOX lot," which will be "one of our best sets ever I think." While we know little thus far about Jones' role thus far, the other American Horror Story Season 5 character names have been revealed. What part do you think a detective could play in the Horror Story Hotel?
