Avengers: Infinity War's screenwriters, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, have just teased the Guardians of the Galaxy's presence in the next Avengers movies!
We already knew that Star-Lord and Thor will be turning up in Avengers: Infinity War thanks to the Russo brothers, but what about the other Guardians? What about Gamora, Groot, Rocket and Drax? What about Nebula, who isn't really part of the Guardians, but she is Gamora's adopted sister? Surely the mere fact that the Avengers will be fending off Thanos means that they'll need all the help they can get. Who better than some space travelling rogues? There's still the whole question mark over who is Peter Quill's father? Maybe that reveal could have something to do with Infinity War's storyline? James Gunn and Chris Pratt got all emotional over Kurt Russell on Twitter. Could Russell be playing Quill's father, and could he help the Avengers defeat Thanos? It's entirely possible since the writers of the upcoming Infinity War movies have teased the Guardians' presence in the next Avengers films.
In an interview with Nerdist, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely teased how the Guardians of the Galaxy could find their way into the next Avengers movies. "Let's put it this way," said Markus, "You know who owns that [Infinity] Gauntlet, right? And you know who's in another movie? And his kids are in that movie... you do the math!" Markus is clearly referencing Thanos here, and his adopted children, Gamora and Nebula, who were both in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, as was the big purple guy himself. Drax the Destroyer also plays an important part in Infinity War's storyline in the comics. We haven't seen much from Thanos yet, so we're pretty excited to see what Josh Brolin can do as the villain, who's been teased throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a while now.
