The continually revolving door that is the Game of Thrones cast list has been turning again. This time it is Harry Potter actor, Freddie Stroma, who is set to join the team for the show's sixth season

The Game of Thrones cast announcement steam train keeps ploughing on. With Season 5 of the HBO series not long over, information concerning the addition of new characters for Season 6 keeps coming thick and fast. Following the reveal of Euron Greyjoy's upcoming appearance, we are now set to be introduced to another unfamiliar face, with Freddie Stroma joining the team for Season 6! Stroma is most famous for his work on the dark American comedy, UnREAL, where he played British playboy, Adam Cromwell. He also notably played a similar arrogant poshboy, Cormac McLaggen in the final three films of the illustrious Harry Potter franchise. With cameos in other colossal successes such as Pitch Perfect and The Inbetweeners 2, Stroma has a remarkably impressive CV for one so early into his acting career. Do his previous roles suggest that we should expect him to play some suave, rugged ladykiller in Thrones, then? The jury is still out on that one, with Stroma in fact set to play the little brother of John Bradley-West's Samwell Tarly: Dickon.

This is one area where even avid readers of George Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' novels won't be completely in the know. As far as we know, Dickon is described as Sam’s younger and more physically capable brother. Their father, the military commander Lord Randyll Tarly, heartlessly forced Sam to choose between joining the Night’s Watch or death so that Dickon could be his true heir. Bless Sam, it's no wonder he's a nervous wreck of a thing from time to time, is it? Of course, the last time we saw Sam in Season 5, he was departing Castle Black for Oldtown alongside Gilly and baby Sam, so at least with this new cast announcement we now know that at least one Tarly will definitely be in Season 6! With aaaaages until Game of Thrones returns to HBO next year, you can take a look at some of the other cast announcements here on melty.
