Today’s the day people! Netflix has just dumped all thirteen episodes of their new Marvel superhero series Jessica Jones at once. Everybody get to streaming!
We’ve seen all the trailers, read all the news, heard all the rumors, watched Netflix’s previous Marvel superhero original series Daredevil (which we thoroughly adored here at melty). It’s now time to get on over to the world’s most talked about streaming service (sorry Amazon Prime Instant Video – that’s one hell of a mouthful), to watch the much-anticipated Jessica Jones series. November 20 is here, and it’s time to binge-watch all thirteen episodes – maybe try to take a break every now and then. A nice brew is usually the perfect accompaniment to a break. So sit back, relax, enjoy the show, and ‘marvel’ over how we are living in an age dominated by comic book super fans. What a world we live in today! We now have our beloved superheroes on both the silver screen and our very own small screens at home.
We’ve been following the series’ marketing campaign pretty closely; they’ve released two awesome trailers that have given us a flavor of what to expect from Netflix’s superhero show. Krysten Ritter is Jessica Jones, an ex-superheroine turned private investigator, who’s trying to escape from her dark and twisted past (manifesting itself primarily in the form of David Tennant’s Kilgrave - aka Purple Man). If the trailers are anything to go by, the tone of this series will be very similar to Daredevil: dark, bitter and moody. We love the sound of this – a more grounded superhero tale. However, Jessica will have something that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdoch doesn't really have: superpowers. Netflix was kind enough to let us watch the first two episodes, and trust us, this series is worth watching! This all sounds so promising, so please excuse us – we have a Jessica Jones marathon to get through! How excited are you for Jessica Jones?
