Star Wars: Episode 8's first footage may be shown at Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration 2016 is almost here and there have been rumors suggesting that we could see some new footage from Star Wars: Episode 8 and Rogue One at the show.

There have been reports suggesting that some lucky people have already seen footage from Star Wars: Episode 8 and Rogue One. According to reports, people went to the License Expo in Las Vegas and got to see some special footage from the next two films in the Star Wars saga. Steven Weintraub, who's the editor-in-chief of Collider took to Twitter to state, "Spoken to people that saw Star Wars Episode 8 footage at License Expo in Vegas. Wondering if it's same footage they show at Celebration." Firstly, why would these people lie? What do they have to gain? Secondly, it's about time that we got to see another trailer for Rogue One, and a little tease of Star Wars: Episode 8 would be very nice indeed.

Weintraub is a very reputable journalist and we don't think that he would tweet about something that he believes to be untrue. Therefore, we're inclined to believe that these people were telling the truth, which has us thinking that other Star Wars fans will get to see the footage at Star Wars Celebration in London this summer. We've heard about so many script leaks from Episode 8 recently, including the rumor that Luke will make Rey build her own lightsaber. However, all of this has been mere speculation. All we want right now is a little teaser for Star Wars: Episode 8 and a full trailer for Rogue One, just to get us in the mood. Then we can just sit back and wait until the movies come out.

This year's Star Wars Celebration is gearing up to be a show to remember. We already know that Rogue One's director, Gareth Edwards, and Cathleen Kennedy will be there. We've also since heard that Luke himself, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher will also be attending. Hopefully we'll get to ask them some probing questions about the next film and have a thoroughly good time celebrating everything Star Wars with other fans of the space opera saga. Despite the reshoots, Rogue One's still on course to hit its December 16, 2016 release date, and Star Wars: Episode 8 is set to hit theatres December 15, 2017. Have you got your tickets for Star Wars Celebration?
