Mark Hamill has confirmed on Twitter that Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode 8 will wrap up principle photography on July 22.

We've been desperately trying to piece together the plot of Star Wars: Episode 8 for months now by checking out all the set photos and reading all those 'leaked scripts'... The bottom line is that we won't know what's going to happen in Episode 8 until the film comes out. Think back to J.J. Abrams' The Force Awakens. Even the film's countless trailers and teasers gave away very little. Disney and Lucasfilm have been very good in keeping as much as they possibly can secret, which is a good thing. We want to go into the film and be amazed by what we're seeing on-screen. We don't want to know everything before we enter the cinema. One thing we do know about Star Wars: Episode 8 is that it'll feature more from Mark Hamill, who recently revealed on Twitter that Episode 8 will wrap up filming this month, July 22 to be exact.

To think that they're almost finished shooting Episode 8 is beyond belief. A few years ago we had no idea that there were going to be more Star Wars films. Then in stepped Disney, who bought the rights off of George Lucas and quickly got to work on making new films. We've now seen The Force Awakens, which broke all sorts of box office records, yet didn't manage to topple James Cameron's Avatar off the top spot. Cameron revealed a few days ago that he wasn't the biggest fan of J.J. Abrams The Force Awakens. Maybe the fact that it came so close to leapfrogging his beloved Avatar made him dislike the movie slightly. Mark Hamill has been talking a great deal about Episode 8. He recently said on Twitter that he's feeling 'cautiously optimistic" about The Force Awakens sequel. Fingers crossed they've made an incredible film. Are you looking forward to Star Wars: Episode 8?
