Warner Bros. is looking into developing spinoff movies for members of the Suicide Squad, otherwise known as Amanda Waller's Task Force X! Does this mean we'll get to see a Joker standalone movie? Please say yes!
It's no secret that the DC Cinematic Universe needs a bit of a shake up. Man of Steel was very divisive and Batman v Superman was mauled by both critics and movie goers. Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment need to find a way to steady the ship and it seems that the answer is Suicide Squad. We've already heard rumors that Margot Robbie will be playing Harley Quinn again in a spinoff movie. Well, now there are whisperings that Warner Bros. is looking at the possibility of tapping into the Suicide Squad well some more to offer other members of Task Force X their own spinoffs. Jared Leto has already shared that he had a blast playing the Joker. He might just get to play the iconic villain again in his own movie. Wouldn't that be something?
According to one of We Got This Covered's sources, the studio is looking closely at the possibility of expanding Suicide Squad beyond just the one film. There's already talk of a Suicide Squad 2, but now there are rumors suggesting that Warner Bros. is developing spinoff movies for individual Suicide Squad members. "I’ve heard more than a few talks of giving some of the other Task Force X members their own spinoffs, and like the Harley Quinn one, these films would open the door for a ton of new DC characters to show up." The anonymous source continued: "The Joker is a definite possibility for a spinoff, and Jared [Leto] seems up for it from what I’ve been told. They’re also really hot on Jai Courtney’s character Boomerang right now. Nothing’s set in stone yet, but you’re definitely going to be seeing a lot more of these guys in the years to come.” Would you like to see these Suicide Squad spinoff movies?
