The band Twenty One Pilots spent some time in Belle Reve Penitentiary to shoot their Suicide Squad music video. Check it out below.
Suicide Squad is almost here, and naturally we're seeing a lot of promotional material for the film starting to roll out. We've already seen a bunch of character posters which went down a comic book route. Now it's time to hear a bit of promotional music for Suicide Squad. Sadly, despite starring in the film, Will Smith will not be doing a song for the upcoming DC Comics movie. We were hoping to see Jared Leto and The Fresh Prince come together to create one of the best ever songs written for a movie, second only to Smith's Wild Wild West song, which is a hard one to forget. However, Twenty One Pilots' song Heathens is a very catchy tune and the video is full of Suicide Squad references. Much of this video takes place in a prison not unlike Belle Reve Penitentiary. In fact, there's some footage taken directly from the upcoming picture. We can see shots of Will Smith's Deadshot and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, both locked up in their cells. There's also some snippets of Jay Hernandez's El Diablo. Twenty One Pilot's frontman, Tyler Joseph, spends most of his time in the prison's orange overalls in this video, until the big final live performance. It wouldn't be a music video without a live performance. Of course they let their inmates perform live music at Belle Reve. We saw a few shots of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's Killer Croc, but there's no sign of Jared Leto's Joker. We do know that Jared Leto will be starring in one of Suicide Squad's music videos, but not this one. Along with Twenty One Pilot's song, the film's official soundtrack, Suicide Squad: The Album, will feature tunes from Skrillex, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Panic! At the Disco. What you think of Twenty One Pilot's Suicide Squad song?
