What does Mary Winchester's return in Supernatural Season 12 hold for Sam and Dean Winchester? Jared Padalecki teases the relationship between the brothers and their mother. Read on to find out what he revealed.
Following the shocking revelation in the Supernatural Season 11 finale that Mary Winchester had been resurrected by The Darkness, Season 12 looks to be in an exciting place. Jared Padalecki has recently revealed Sam's fate in Supernatural Season 12 following the shooting in the finale, but more interesting (to us at least) is how Mary Winchester will fit into the grand scheme of things now. Will she be a supportive mother in the background to the Winchesters and try to live a normal life, or will she follow in the family business, and join Sam and Dean as a hunter? Speaking to TVLine, Jared Padalecki recently dished on what her return means for the brothers. The site asked Padalecki whether Sam needed closure with his mother, and his answer is telling if not unsurprising.
Padalecki answered: "Not as much as Dean does, because Sam was so young [when she died]. [But Sam] would like to get some answers [because he only] knows a little bit [about her]. I think a part of Sam is very curious. He’s a thinker, he’s an intellect. Part of him wants to have some sort of closure with his father, with his mother. Sam is one of these interesting people who feels the void, even if he didn’t ever know it. They say, ‘If you don’t know something, you don’t know what you’re going to miss.’ But I think Sam knows what he’s missing." It seems pretty clear then that while Sam did get shot in the Season 11 finale, he'll likely survive because the writers will want to develop his relationship with his mother.
