The second season of The CW's The 100 left viewers shocked after Clarke refused to return to Camp Jaha following the siege at Mount Weather. Is there still hope for her and Bellamy? Read on to find out what producer Jason Rothenberg had to say about Bellarke's future
Will Clarke and Lexa reunite when The 100 Season 3 premieres later this year? It's the question everybody's been asking themselves since the duo shared a passionate kiss during the first half of the show's Season 2 finale, but following the Commander's shocking betrayal of the Sky People during their final assault on Mount Weather, it doesn't seem likely that their reunion will be on good terms. For every viewer that wants Clarke to end up with Lexa, there's another pushing for her to admit her feelings for Bellamy, from whom she parted at the end of "Blood Must Have Blood, Pt. 2" following her decision to destroy the Mountain and everyone in it. Producer Jason Rothenberg recently spoke about what"s in store for Bellarke when new episodes premiere later this fall.
Unfortunately, it looks like a romantic relationship between the pair is unlikely to happen any time soon. Speaking to The Wrap, Rothenberg said: "Clarke certainly isn’t feeling anything romantic towards Bellamy in that moment, she’s broken, she’s dust at this point and needs to get away. Whether Bellamy is in love with Clarke, that’s open to interpretation. It’s not in the script but these two actors obviously have insane chemistry, and it’s something we’re all aware of." Rothenberg went on to add: "Of course, the relationship is canon in the books so for people who are really dying for that Bellarke dynamic, they can certainly look there. I’m not beholden to that story. That being said, these two characters certainly need each other, depend on each other and probably love each other in a very real way. Whether that’s romantic or not … It certainly hasn’t happened yet. But there’s always Season 3." However, during a subsequent interview with E! , Rothenberg gave fans a ray of hope: "It's a very tense part of the books. If you want that right now, you can get it. At some point, the show will give it to you too, but for now, it's not there." In the meantime, find out who the mysterious A.L.I.E. is, and what she'll represent when The 100 Season 3 debuts.
