The 100 Season 4 probably won't debut until 2017!

So as the dust settles on the finale of The 100 Season 3, thoughts inevitably turn to the show's fourth season. But don't expect Clarke and co. to return this fall...

First things first: The 100 HAS been renewed for a fourth season. So no need to worry that Octavia murdering Pike would be the last act of the entire series - it wasn't. HOWEVER, according to our friends over at Heavy, Jason Rothenberg's dystopian future-based show may not occupy the same Fall-Spring TV schedule as most series do. In fact, it looks like Clarke and co. have been shunned to their awkward Season 3 slot of a mid-season debut again. According to Heavy: "Despite being renewed, The 100 is not on The CW’s recently released schedule for Fall 2016. Although shows like Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and The Vampire Diaries will be returning in the fall, The 100 will not. Instead, The 100 will be returning as a mid-season show, just like it did this year. For Season 3, The 100 started on January 21, 2016. It’s likely that CW will choose a similar date in late January to premiere season 4 of The 100 in 2017."

January 2017 is a reaaaally long way away... Having just watched a truly spectacular Season 3 showdown, having learnt all that we have this year, the fact that we now have to wait another eight or so months before returning to Arkadia is brutal. What will the landscape be like on the Ground when Season 4 debuts next year? Will Octavia have left the Sky Crew for good? Will Clarke manage to stay in the same place for more than one episode? Will Monty and Jasper have rekindled that beautiful bromance of theirs? Sorry to be the bearers of bad news, but we ain't gonna learn the answers to any of these questions before 2017... Don't worry though, folks, we'll endeavour to keep you updated with all the latest The 100 news as soon as we get it,just as we did when Eliza Taylor confirmed Lexa's brief cameo return! Do you prefer the January start date for The 100?
