Barry potentially has a new rival on his plate in The Flash Season 3, as an ominous recurring character is introduced that will do anything to find out Barry's secrets.
Carlos Valdes hasn't been shy about his opinion that the Flashpoint Paradox could happen in The Flash Season 3, but speculation aside, some solid details on The Flash's third season are finally beginning to drip through. In TVLine's Ask Ausiello column, someone inquired if the site's resident spoiler expert had any news on The Flash Season 3's Big Bad and asked whether it would be mirror master. Ausiello responded: "I’m seeing nothing firm (yet) on Mirror Master being introduced, but here’s a curious new breakdown to wrap your noodle around: For Season 3, The CW hit is casting the major recurring character of Barry’s slightly older, slightly geekier contemporary, a guy who is as smart as he is intuitive. As such, this newcomer doesn’t buy Barry’s nice guy routine and sets out to learn what he’s hiding — all while concealing some secrets of his own…."
So who could this newcomer be? Will they be an ally to Barry or an enemy? Judging on their similar character traits, we'd guess that they'd be a rival for Barry to compete against. Grant Gustin has already teased that The Flash Season 3 Big Bad might not be a metahuman, so could this be the real Big Bad of the season? After all, if they're keeping the fact that they're a villain from Barry then it's going to be harder for The Flash to catch them, even if they're not a metahuman. We've still got our hopes set on Abra Kadabra for the Big Bad, a magician from the 64th Century, because although he's not a metahuman, technology is so far advanced in the future that his technology would resemble magic in the 21st Century.
