The Vampire Diaries Season 7: Episode 22 trailer, what's in the vault?

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale is finally upon us and it looks like The Armory vault will cause some problems for the vampire crew. But it might also see the return of Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert! Check out the trailer for "Gods and Monsters" below

The penultimate episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 7 saw Bonnie wake up with a new hatred towards vampires and on mission to kill them all after Rayna sacrificed her last remaining life for Bonnie. While Bonnie was still asleep her friends took turns going in her head to help her remember that not all vampires are bad. Unfortunately that didn't work and Bonnie immediately hunted down Damon as soon as she woke up, as teased in TVD Episode 21 trailer. To be fair Damon did taunt her to get Bonnie to wake up, so that she wouldn't slip away into nothingness. Now that Bonnie's awake she's determined to spill some vampire blood, and she even seems a bit scarier than Rayna. If you missed out on the action you can catch up with our Episode 21 recap of The Vampire Diaries before getting a little taste of the Season 7 finale with the trailer below.

It looks like Damon and co. are going through with the plan to get inside The Armory and sever Bonnie's tie to the final Everlasting. There is the problem of that pesky vault though, that Bonnie opened but then sealed The Armory shut so that it could not escape. Stefan asks Damon: "This thing in the vault, do we know what it is?" Damon simply responds: "Bad," as they walk through an Armory room that looks like havoc has been wreaked upon it. There's broken chairs and tables, stuff all over the floors and a bunch of dead bodies. It's not a pretty sight.

Damon voices what we're all thinking when he says: "This is appropriately creepy." It seems like whatever is in the vault has left no survivors in The Armory. The huge shock of the trailer is that Damon thinks he sees or hears Elena inside the vault. As much as we'd love for Nina Dobrev to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert we doubt that's the case. It seems like the mysterious thing in the vault somehow knows what people want (i.e. Alex hearing her sister, who's actually been dead all this time) and use that to its advantage. Do you think that Nina Dobrev will feature in the Season 7 finale?
